Ever had an IC card or e-money balance stuck at an awkward amount you can never quite use up? Pittari Calculator finds every combination of item quantities that adds up to exactly your remaining balance.
How It Works
Enter your e-money balance, then add the unit prices of items you are considering buying. Tap Calculate and the app lists every quantity combination that totals exactly that amount — up to 20 results, sorted by fewest items first.
Fixed and Variable Quantities
Each item can be set to fixed or variable. If you know you are definitely buying one of a particular item, enter its quantity to lock it in. The remaining balance is then filled by combinations of the variable items. Leave the quantity field blank to mark an item as variable.
For example, with a balance of 1,150 yen and items priced at 110, 150, and 180 yen, the app finds:
- 180 yen × 1 + 150 yen × 5 + 110 yen × 2 = 1,150 yen (8 items total)
- 180 yen × 0 + 150 yen × 4 + 110 yen × 5 = 1,150 yen (9 items total)
